The Brighton Beach Café I’d Go Back to: A Cozy Morning in Melbourne
Melbourne weather really does seem to have a mind of its own.
On the day we arrived, it rained, then the sun came out, and before long the weather seemed to change all over again. It felt like we experienced several seasons in just one day.
We were staying near Brighton Beach, so despite the unpredictable weather, we decided to take a walk along the beach with the kids.
A Windy Morning at Brighton Beach
Of course, we couldn’t visit Brighton without stopping by the famous Brighton Bathing Boxes. The colorful little beach boxes lined up along the sand make this part of Melbourne instantly recognizable.
We walked along the beach, let the kids explore, and took a few family photos in front of the boxes.
It was beautiful, but that morning was especially windy.
After spending some time outside, we were all ready to find somewhere warm.
Finding Warmth at Beach House Brighton
That was when we headed into Beach House Brighton, right by the beach.
And what a surprise.
The moment we stepped inside and looked out toward the water, I thought, Wow.
The view was absolutely beautiful.
We sat inside, warmed ourselves up, and ordered hot chocolate and cake with the kids. Outside, the wind was still blowing across the beach, but from our table we could simply sit, relax, and enjoy the view of the sea.
One of Those Simple Travel Moments
There was something so simple but memorable about that morning.
Maybe it was because I love cafés. Maybe it was the contrast between the cold, windy beach outside and the warmth of the café. Or maybe it was just being together as a family, eating cake and drinking something warm while looking out over the water.
I remember thinking, there are people who get to enjoy moments like this as part of everyday life.
Sometimes travelling reminds you that happiness doesn’t always have to come from doing something extraordinary. It can be a warm drink, a slice of cake, your children sitting beside you, and a beautiful view through the window.
The Café I’d Come Back For
I still remember that cake.
And strangely enough, when I think about Brighton Beach, I don’t only think about the colorful bathing boxes. I think about sitting inside that café, looking out at the beach while spending a quiet morning with the kids.
I would absolutely return to Brighton Beach.
But I think I’d go back to Beach House Brighton just as eagerly.
Sometimes a café becomes part of the travel memory itself—and for me, this was one of those places.
