Ferris is taking a day off — and we’re taking it seaside.
Join us at Ventura Harbor Village for a free outdoor screening of Ferris Bueller’s Day Off in celebration of the film’s 40th anniversary. Bring a blanket or low-back chair, find your spot on the waterfront lawn and enjoy one of the most iconic comedies of the ’80s under the stars.
Come early, grab dinner or drinks around the Village and stick around for music, games, giveaways and Ferris-inspired fun before the movie begins.
Make a Day of It
Movie night doesn’t have to start at sunset. Come down early and spend the afternoon at the Harbor with:
Live music on the Promenade Stage from 1–4 PM
Waterfront restaurants and patios
Local shops and galleries
Wine tasting
Escape rooms and family-friendly activities
Harbor views and plenty of room for a seaside stroll
Then head to the Main Lawn for the evening festivities beginning at 7 PM.
Preshow Fun Starts at 7 PM
Get to the lawn early for music, games, giveaways and a few nods to Ferris before the opening credits.
Stop by the Ventura Harbor Village Visitor Booth to test your Ferris Bueller knowledge and earn a “Save Ferris” button.

Turn movie night into dinner by the water.
Enjoy a sit-down meal at one of Ventura Harbor Village’s waterfront restaurants before the show, or pick up your favorites to-go and create your own movie-night picnic on the lawn.
From seafood and fish & chips to Mexican favorites, burgers, pastries, boba, milkshakes and more, there are plenty of options within a short walk of the movie.

Popcorn, Drinks & Movie-Night Treats
Already had dinner? Save room for the movie essentials.
Fresh popped popcorn, refreshing drinks, coffee and hot cocoa will be available to purchase near the lawn, along with even more sweets, sips and treats throughout Ventura Harbor Village.
What to Bring
Blankets + low-back chairs: Seating on the Main Lawn is first come, first served. Arrive early to find your favorite spot.
A warm layer: Harbor evenings can cool down once the sun sets. Bring a sweatshirt or blanket — or browse the Village shops for something cozy before the movie.
Your movie-night appetite: Dine before the show or grab takeout and enjoy it picnic-style on the lawn.
Getting Here + Parking
The movie will be shown on the Ventura Harbor Village Main Lawn, near 1591 Spinnaker Drive in Ventura.
Paid parking is in effect in Ventura Harbor Village and nearby beach lots on weekends from 10 AM–8 PM:
$1 per hour, up to 4 hours
$10 for a full-day pass
Visits under one hour are complimentary with license plate entry
Free parking is available in designated spaces along Spinnaker Drive
The Dolphin Lot at Safe Harbor Ventura Isle also offers free public parking and is a short waterfront walk from the Village
Please follow posted parking signage when you arrive.
